JILL JEFFREY
Jill Jeffrey has worked with individual, couples, children and families for over 15 years. A licensed counselor and board-certified art therapist, she has worked in many social service settings and then started her private practice. Jill passionately believes in helping clients work through difficult issues and making the changes they need to have a more fulfilling life.
She began her work as an Art Therapist at a Rape Crisis Center. During her tenure, she wrote a grant and started an outreach program into the Chicago schools working with children and youth effected by abuse and community violence. Since she has worked as an Art Therapist in several school setting including a therapeutic day school, early literacy programming, and a daycare/after school programming for low income families. Through these positions, she has develop many strategies for working with children and families.
In addition, she consulted for Apna Ghar, Inc. for many years working with families from all over the world faces the effects of domestic violence, human trafficking, and gender violence. Thought these experiences, she has worked with many children and families with an array of world views and life experiences that now guide her in helping people heal through their own self knowledge.
In 2010, Jill Jeffrey began her own private practice and has continued to see children, families, individuals, and couples. She received her initial Master's degree training from the School of the Art Institute in Art Therapy and became a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of Illinois. She has continued to deepen her knowledge through several year of master level supervision and study in Narrative Therapy as well as training in EMDR. She continues to learn about the brain, psychology and current understanding and techniques to best serve her clients. She also has trained many graduate students.
